Niki Rose was born just outside Byron Bay, and has spent most of her life growing up in Northern NSW.
Niki began artistic ventures in art, dance and costume at a very young age, with her first performance in contemporary dance at the age of 6.
Niki continued to train in contemporary dance but also studied other styles of dance such as Jazz and Ballet until the age of 16. It was around that time that Niki discovered her true passion in Belly Dance and began performing around Australia at large scale festivals and at several world renowned Belly Dance events.
Niki furthered her knowledge throughout her high school education by studying Contemporary dance and completing several units in technique and choreography that included many differing styles of dance for her School certificate.
Niki also began ventures into fashion, costume design, photography, modeling and visual arts from the age of 15, throughout high school and TAFE and has continued to create alongside performing.
After leaving school Niki began work in event management and Decor productions for alternative lifestyle events across Australia while continuing to design and create costume, clothing and dance.
After taking time out to start a family, Niki moved back to Northern NSW and once again began to explore her passion for the Arts.
She started modelling for clothing brand Serpentine Wear, as well as other small local artists. Her photos are now used in promotions worldwide.
In 2017 Niki began dancing with "Lakita' & "The Ladies of the Lounge" in Byron Bay & Melbourne. She continues to train & collaborate with Lakita, as well as furthering her studies with other experienced teachers such as Rachel Brice & Zoe Jakes (Datura Online Belly Dancing School), Jodi Waseca and many other talented Australian teachers.
In 2017 Niki Rose also began making costumes for her belly dancing troupe "Lakita & The ladies of the lounge", before long, interest in other costuming and festival fashions began to take hold. Through word of mouth, internet collaborations & the dream of creating something magical, beautiful and different, the idea of Wild Rose Creations was born.
All of Niki's creations are a mix of up cycled and new materials, with a focus on sourcing local or second hand wherever possible. Niki Rose uses her clients ideas, dreams & energy to build not only a costume, but piece of art that transcends this world and pushes the boundaries of what our imaginations thought possible.
As of 2020 Niki will be studying Costuming for Live Production at TAFE, as well as focusing on growing her businesses in costuming and performance in the Byron Shire. You can spot her creations in local boutique Shops, or see her roving performances at many Large Scale Festivals throughout the year such as Sub Sonic Music Festival, Splendor in The Grass & Woodford Folk Festival.
